IEC Training Center
San Antonio, Texas
Acuform was selected through a qualifications-based process to design a new educational facility for Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC), supporting their intensive two-year vocational training program. The facility includes flexible classrooms, a hands-on technical training center, and administrative offices for regional leadership.
To maximize space efficiency, classrooms were paired and separated by collapsible partitions, allowing class sizes to scale from 15 to 60 students. The technical shop was designed to simulate real-world job sites, giving students practical experience with residential, commercial, and industrial systems. Administrative areas were configured to support staff operations while allowing for future growth.
This facility serves as both a professional hub and a training ground that empowers the next generation of electrical professionals through thoughtful, real-world design.
The team at Acuform defined a clear program of spaces and worked hard to develop a very efficient layout reducing building area and saving construction costs.
